What do you find inspiring about architecture?
The ability to truly change lives for the better. Good design allows us to pause and take in the space. We have had the opportunity to design public spaces and schools and it is incredible to experience how the space is received and filled; whether a rustic restaurant patio, an assembly space like the council chambers or a naturally lit classroom….seeing the excitement and pleasure of those using the space is extremely inspiring. Furthermore, the use of natural light and the integration of nature and pattern are always inspiring when found within a space; these elements help to create a cohesive look, which is the epitome of good design.
What are your hobbies and interests?
Hiking, reading, traveling & gardening.
What’s one obscure tidbit about yourself?
I have a photographic memory of space…but I cannot remember names!
