In September 2016 Charles received a Quilt of Honor for his military service. In a very emotional service he was presented with a quilt that was stitched for him by a local quilter. The Quilt of Honor program matches quilters with veterans and presents quilts selflessly as a measure of gratitude and healing for veterans.
