Weston Miles Architects named Green Business of the Year
Morgan Hill Firm Recognized for its Commitment to Sustainability
Weston Miles Architects (WMA) was honored as Green Business of the Year by the Santa Clara County League
of Conservation Voters (SCCLCV) at their Fundraiser Event on October 5 in Monte Sereno, California. WMA, a
husband and wife team of Charles D. Weston and Lesley Miles, accepted the honor that recognized their long-standing
dedication to designing schools and buildings in the South Bay that emphasize sustainability.
Acknowledging the award Lesley said, “It’s so gratifying to be recognized for the work that we’ve been doing
over the years. We have always tried to integrate our passion for design and the environment with our clients’
needs.” WMA’s recent eco-friendly designs for two new Santa Clara County Office of Education facilities - Brownell
County Annex and Gateway School - speak to the environmental stewardship they bring to their work. The firm’s core
value was in evidence again when it transformed the historic Isaacson Granary in Morgan Hill from an abandoned
industrial site to a thriving commercial complex, providing a home for WMA and seven other businesses and earning
LEED Gold certification in the process.
